Faile Dreams Trade « Result #2 on Dec 4, 2009, 5:29pm »
I have a Faile Dreams Brown and looking to trade for another Faile print...a straight one for one print is ideal. The Faile Dreams Brown was $1800 from Faile but does not have to be a perfect dollar for dollar trade.

The news about the shows is good but with faile putting out some much work in such short spaces of time I do wonder about how much time they get to spend dabbling with new "content" ideas.
What I wouldn't like to see is a number of the 2010 shows relying solely on older content. I LOVE the older content but for me it is also really important that faile keep pushing forward and although I commend them on their wooden canvasses as of late, I hold by my belief that they should bring out some new content for the new shows coming up. New with the old is fine but all old is a cop-out at this stage I think, even 1 or 2 sneaky new images in the new pieces would wet appetites and get people talking and excited.

originals are back up, man I hope they make a limited "Faile Featurettes Too Good To Be True" print it would look so sick next to sexy ads, so old school faile!

Agree with all of that Iron The horse and surreal is a perfect description and I think the show with Bast will be tantalising esp if there are some collaborative works.
They need to dirty it up again and Bast is pure filth!

Having to let these go.
Choc. Donuts - looking to get around 2700usd.
Faile Mirror Mirror from '06 - looking to get around 6500usd.
Here is what Faile said about them when they were released, and some pics of the actual print. I believe this to be the largest Faile print ever made - or at least close to it. HUGE! (and exquisitely dirty)
Mirror Mirror in Silver
Varied-edition print of 6. Silkscreen and Mixed Media. Archival 100 LB Lenox Paper. Dimensions: 46 x 34 Inches. Stamped, Numbered and Signed by Faile. 2006
These are quite big prints. Very low edition, and the screen ripped in the aftermath of making these prints. So there won't be any Mirror Mirror's on the site for a little while. In fact, we will probably remake the image in a new way or variation, so this may be it for this incarnation of the Mirror Mirror print. Time will tell.
The background is a lightly misted silver. Looks a bit grey from afar but has a nice shimmer up close.

Adam, I know where you're coming from but this is still 'unfinished business' from Glimmering Shadows show so - yes, no big surprises here. Although I can say I am smitten by the Scuba Horse. Absolutely surreal piece of art. It is magnificent IMO. The print looks great too.
One of the main thing for me though is the news about what's coming up. The group show with Gagosian - is as big as it gets. And the upcoming show with the BAST - well, I can't wait.

Hard to say. It used to be the case when people put them in the basket and then not paying but from what I am reading it could be some kind of problem with the site.
Butterfly Girl Pink & Cream « Result #31 on Dec 3, 2009, 6:15pm »
Hello - New Here!
I'm looking for some help - I have a Butterfly Girl Print in pink and cream. I bought this print new from Faile myself - about 2005/6
Unfortunatley I now need to sell this print as I would like to start a new business, but have no idea how much it is worth or where to sell it! Only now tempted to sell as a friend said it's worth a lot more than the £200 ish I paid!
Any info on potential value or dealers who could help would be greatfully received

My roommate scored a Warriors of the Night. I can't wait to see it, my favorite image from London. I think the print looks even better than the original too, sexy.

Not ecstatic about this release. I am sure some will disagree but these releases of seen images don't hold much excitement for me any more and I have to be honest and say that the 07 release or earlier releases from 2005 appeal to me much more so than these pieces. I like mess and slaps of paint, too refined here for my tastes.
I personally think that faile should be blowing us anyway with EVERY release whether it's paper, canvas, whatever and I hope given there was only 1 print multiple print run here that they will move on from the old method of releasing previous images in this way. Unexpected remixes are cool but nothing here made me think "Wow, I don't see that coming" and that kind of sucks.
Boring and predictable would be my 2 cents and that pains me as a faile fan.

News from Scuba Horse's mouth:
The holiday season is here once again and we hope this finds everyone well and looking forward to the new year.
We are releasing a new print today, "Warriors of the Night" - edition of 24, along with a few originals from the Lost in Glimmering Shadows series and a new Sex Ad. These will be released through the Faile site here: http://www.faile.net/
Prints will go up today at high Noon here in NYC.
Along with the new works on paper we are releasing 2 sculptures today. First is the bronze Scuba Horse sculpture. We're excited to share this new sculpture with you today, a piece that’s been long in the works with Raneri Sculpture Casting and our amazing sculpture Charlie Becker. Only 8 of these are being released. One will be released today and we will release the others through email request as the edition is finished. We may put one or more through the site to open it up again for those interested at some point next year. Also being released is a new Bronze Bunny Boy, the second in the bronze series sporting a lusty British Racing Green patina.
Please note: if you see something that is sold out and you are interested in it, check back about 30 minutes later as sometimes the carts get clogged up before they are reset and the remaining pieces become available.
There are a few shows and exhibits to be aware of. We will be showing works with Perry Rubenstein Gallery this week in Miami at Art Basel. For details on available works please contact: sean@perryrubenstein.com
We're looking forward to the new year here in the studio. There are a few great shows lined up for the Winter. The year starts off with a group show entitled "Meet Me Inside" opening January 15th at Gagosian Gallery in Los Angeles. We will be heading over to London in February to do a Faile / Bast show. Should be a good one so we hope to see you there. Many more details to come on these shows and other projects in the new year. We'll catch up with you after the Holidays. Have a great end of the year and thank you again for all the support.
And what news it is. So basically 1 print, 2 bronze sculptures, some originals, new show with BAST in London at Laz, then I assume the NYC show with PRG and then group show in LA with Gagosian.

Adam. If, like me, most of your walls are plaster. You have to spread the weight. You could cut a medium/large square of mdf ( thick but not too thick to screw a nail or bolt into) then glue this to the wall with something like 'hard as nails' - glue at all corner points - oviously this isn't going to work if you have one of faile's new metal works!- this helps?
Re: Faile - Perry Rubenstein Gallery « Result #55 on Dec 2, 2009, 11:01am »
Whats a stud? I just bang them into the wall without much thought, well I used to bang them in without much thought!
I was using those plastic hangers that you knock into the wall using the 3 nails attached, what happened was the plastic hook holder the picture broke off on both occasions. Must have been poor quality cheapies but made me very nervous as one of the frames got damaged: an expensive frame!!
Re: Faile - Perry Rubenstein Gallery « Result #57 on Dec 2, 2009, 7:11am »
One of my Failes fell from the wall last night as the plastic hangy thing that it was on broke due to the weight of the frame. Thankfully the piece didn't get damaged but this is the 2nd time this has happened [different pieces.]
Any advice for the best method to hang pieces? My walls don't seem to take to nails very well.
On and dontditurb, I can't wait to see pics of this up, I wish I has the dilemma of hanging it!

She's here! Quick pic peeking out of the box. I am not sure when I will be able to post a pic of it up on the wall as the piece is ridiculously heavy due to the metal frame. I cannot move it to properly unpack; I need to figure out how to hang it first.

Everyones Faile collection has taken a nose dive in terms of what they think it should be worth. Those who bought at cost in 06/07 are still on a winner.
PM informed me the Supine release would be at the very end of November..So next week I hope.

I wonder if this will be the last print release for a while? Personally I'd rather see a load of new images and huge works rather than more and more prints. Love faile paper but in a selfish way also love the thought of my collection retaining value.
They made the announcement for the last prints sometime in mid-afternoon (EST). I'm also wondering what's going on with the Supine Papermonster release. That was supposed to be in November too.

I was just thinking about those the other day, what ever happened to the prints from the fall of 08'? I remember Laz had them up in their print shop and then they were never released...

Yeah and seeing how things have gotten even worse since then you get the feeling that these people have pushed faile off the street and into the gallery more so which is a good and bad thing I guess. I'm not a purist so I have always liked their work in both contexts and true be told I prefer what they do for the gallery shows, would love to see a few monster failes pasted up somewhere worldwide but until then (if that day ever comes!) I can just enjoy my prints and the expectation of the show next year.

Agree, 1986, Brooklyn finest, Tate, getting arrested, Blue, Banksy = very interesting. Like the part where he talks about doing the pieces on the streets, how it has changed compared to few years ago and how they don't authenticate the outdoor stuff.

I agree J-usa The Judith Supine are great also. Would've loved one of these. But my head's set on finding 'a taste for seduction'.... Who has one? (it?)Anybody? Go on make me green with envy.
